When a brand says that almost everything they do is ‘fast’, it becomes difficult for the consumer (and the designers) to build hierarchy into product stories and brand stories. So RS1 was created as the top tier brand mark for performance.
The RS1 mark was designed to look like a racing circuit and have a fast visual appearance. It had to be complementary to the primary brandmark - Orca - but have it’s own personality.
I designed the RS1 mark in 2009 and it continues to be used today as the premium race badge for the Orca ranges.
